group activity.

based on john cage "4:33" piece, this was a walk of about 43 minutes, consisted of a three phases. the main element was silence. the project had a starting point at the art station in psarades, prespes, greece and the meeting was at 6:00pm. phase one begun with a silent walking on the land section, parallel to the lake. an important element was the exploration of silence in all its forms and the ultimate goal is coexistence in nature, without being heard, walking with as much discretion and respect as we can towards it (giving nature the advantage of listening to us and not the contrary). in phase two at the destination point, participants were able to experience the view of the trinational in a meditative manner. interactive objects were placed, offering different ways to explore the landscape through the triptych of silence - pause - sound. these objects (kaleidoscopes and topophones) were available in order for the participants to decipher, in their own unique way, the landscape. clearly the process required silence, but without this attitude being misinterpreted as a break, while everyone had the choice to listen, see and interact. in phase three, emphasis was given to the concept of pause and how it is inherent in simple everyday actions or movements when they are done consciously. this phase also included the return to the meeting point, however the participants were invited to explore how a pause can be functional and important in something as simple as walking and how the body often knows it, seeks it but does not find it. during the return, everybody was invited to implement one last break.

upon returning to the original meeting point, an opportunity for dialogue and any questions about the technical / procedural part of the project arose.
