frozen time / grammos as the great maneuver v -
group exhibition.
a speaker system transmitting cut-up sounds, endlessly.
at selenis watermill -
nestorio, kastoria (gr)

a narrative can be understood through a structure based on language and in relation to the narrated event there is always an intermediary, that is, the individual who recounts, who transmits an experience as a transmitter to a receiver. experience transferred can be interpreted in a relative way, that sometimes interpretation and understanding itself may not be related to the actual experience itself.
how do we interpret what we hear? how do we interact with a narrative and how important is the relevance and accuracy of a story with its understanding? how much the receivers of a narrative simulate themselves with pieces of a story and when the psychological, social, the knowledge load of the listeners gives new characteristics to the story? how much can the sound of speech be deconstructed during recounting in a new and non-tangible form, excluding whatever meanings there may be, existing simply as sound in a condition where the meanings of words have collapsed as absolute lingual and structural units?
"in the context of the activities of the festival grammou, of the municipality of nestorio, kastoria (gr), the completion of the participatory artistic process "frozen time, grammos as the great maneuver v" was presented in the exhibition space of serenis watermill.
the presentation was a continuation of the investigation carried out on mount grammos, where a contemporary process of visual walking covered in the period from 14 to 20 july 2023, the area of grammos highlighting points of historical and environmental interest. during that period, a nomadic body of artists (landscape investigation group / perceivers) walked the routes plikati / grammousta / fousia.
the nomadic body spent the night outdoors transmitting / collecting data. the data was processed by artists, researchers and male and female students of the school of fine arts of the university of western macedonia (art processing team/receivers) who were hosted at the park of national reconciliation, transforming the narratives into artistic interest.
the participatory artistic process "frozen time, grammos as a great maneuver v" was presented at serenis watermill, from september 6th to 8th, with the artistic interest of the participants. there was thoughtful processing of the process by visitors and participating artists both at the opening and during the exhibition".
